PWI Bekasi Raya Chapter Gives Blessed Friday Charity Program for Local Community of Bekasi City

BEKASI, Indonesia — The Bekasi Raya chapter of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) reaffirmed its commitment to community service with another installment of its “Blessed Friday” (Jumat Berkah) program, held on Friday (11/July/2025). This weekly initiative is part of a broader social outreach campaign aimed at bridging the gap between journalists and the local community, while cultivating a culture of compassion within the often high-pressure world of journalism.
Ade Muksin, SH, Chairperson of PWI Bekasi Raya, described the activity as a tangible expression of journalists’ social responsibility.
“We want to show that journalists are not only tasked with reporting news and delivering information, but also have a heart and concern for the social realities around them,” Ade said during the event.
He further noted that the initiative serves to strengthen camaraderie among members of the organization.
“Programs like this help maintain a spirit of unity and collective care among journalists. We want PWI to be present not only in headlines, but in real action that benefits the community,” he added.
During the event, PWI members were seen enthusiastically distributing food packages to residents.
The “Blessed Friday” initiative is set to continue as a recurring effort by PWI Bekasi Raya, reflecting the organization’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community engagement beyond the newsroom. [■]
