TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Six people who demonstrated in front of the North Sumatra Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) have been determined as suspects.
“We determined them this morning,” said the Chief of the Indonesian Police, General Bambang Hendarso Danuri, during a press conference on Wednesday (4/2).
The initials of the six suspects' names are CV, S, DS, BRG, JS and PS, and it is likely that there will be more suspects.
“We are searching for more suspects from the handycam recording made by the police,” said head of the National Police Criminal Investigation Division, Commissioner General Susno Duaji.
Since Tuesday (3/2) evening, no less than 13 people have already been examined, however two of them refused.
“They asked to be accompanied by attorneys,” said the Chief of the Indonesian police.
General Bambang Hendarso Danuri said the acts of violence were intolerable.
The damage that has been done to the DPRD building is easy to be seen.
“They will be charged under articles 170 and 160 regarding collective destruction,” said the Chief of the Indonesian police.
The North Sumatra DPRD Speaker died after the demonstration and according to Commissioner General Susno Duaji, his death was caused by a heart attack.
“Based on information from the Gleneagles Hospital in Medan,” he said.
However, further examination of the wounds by the hospital could lead to new evidence.
“We are waiting for confirmation from the hospital,” said Susno
